Background check

If you already know the story you can skip this part, if not here's how it started.

I met Officer Joe about 5 years ago. I got a little crush on him (let's face it, he's hot) but he was married so I didn't do anything. Our interractions were limited to "hey, how's it going".

Fast-forward 4.5 years, and one of us added the other on facebook (I honestly don't remember who did). We start chatting online - some nights into the wee hours of the morning. My little crush turned into a full blown "how *you* doin'?"! Needless to say I was quite pleasantly surprised to find out he's now single. Woot! *does happy dance*

But alas, I was being shy and just flirted slightly online with him. Boo-urns indeed. I mentioned my new infatuation to a few of the other people who knew him and we started Team PR who's mandate was to finally get me out on a date with Officer Joe. For a bit Officer Joe's relationship status was in question, but one member of Team PR took it upon himself to find out, from a reliable source, that he was, indeed, single. WOOT!

But again, I was too shy/wimpy to directly ask him out. I was afraid to misread anything. Although most ppl who I recounted our conversations to agreed that he was indeed interested.

Finally last Friday night I worked up the courage to kindasorta ask him out to do something (wasn't asking him out on a date...just to go skiing). He asked for a raincheck for a weekday. ok, ok, not too bad...he didn't flat out say no.......

Last night though was "bittersweet". I found out he's kinda started dating his ex again. BLARG! But he insinuated that it wasn't going well and might not last long. Actually, insinuated is the wrong word......he flat out said that! ok, ok....silver linning! I forget how the conversation got to this, but we were talking about "musts" for a s.o. to have. I listed some of mine (must ride and/or ski/snowboard, must like pets, must like to travel) and he replied with "hey I ride and ski and have a dog and love to travel!". Then when he listed his, most, if not all, applied to me! And I told him I had made up a list in my head of what I thought his "musts" would be and he wanted to know what I came up with, so I replied with "brunette, about 5'5", has funky boots, and rides a white and red bike....yup".

Now last night I was REALLY tired and tiredness can be equated to drunkenness in the inhibitions side of things (ie. I say things when I'm tired that I normally would be too shy to say otherwise). He didn't believe me that he was hot (which he IS) so I told him that I got a little crush on him when I first met him. He was like "but you rarely talked to me!" so I told him I was shy, and he didn't believe me, so I had to explain that I'm not shy with most people but around people I like I'm really shy.

So that, coupled with other stuff said, MUST have got through to him that I like him. I hope at least!

So I believe that brings us up to date with the story of Officer Joe. I shall try to recount things as they happen.

Here's to hoping!!
